On April 28, within the framework of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, practice sessions and qualifications of Formula 1 and Formula 2 were held on the Baku City Ring.

Preme Racing driver Oliver Bearman won a 45-minute free practice in Formula 2.
Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing driver, wins a free practice in Formula 1.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took pole position by winning the Qualifying Session of Formula 1 racing.
It is he who will start from the first position at the Grand Prix, which will be held on April 30th.

Our country has been hosting Formula 1 races since 2016. In 2020, Formula 1 and Formula 2 races were not held in Baku due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2021, the competitions were held without spectators.
