The Formula One Grand Prix has started in the capital’s Freedom Square. Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku has been launched on April 26. On the first day of the race, the pilots tested their strength in two freestyle rounds on the Baku track. Formula 2 races were held in Baku as part of Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Formula 1 European Grand Prix winner, German Mercedes-Benz pilot Niko Rosberg, won the 2016 Grand Prix in Baku in 2016. Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix ended with the victory of Australian driver of the Red Bull Racing team Daniel Riccardo.
