On April 26, at the fourth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship in Baku, the Grand Prix of SOCAR Azerbaijan was launched.
The first free race was canceled due to the failure of the car driver of the Williams pilot, George Russell, who hit the drainage hatch. In the second free run, the Ferrari team pilots excelled. So, Charles Leclaire was the first, and Sebastian Vettel – the second. The top three closed the five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”).
At the Formula 2 competitions, within the framework of the Grand Prix Formula 1, SOCAR Azerbaijan held a free race and an orderly tour.
In the free race, which lasted 45 minutes, the pilot of the UNI Virtuosi team, Luca Giotto, beat all rivals and became the first. Nobukhari Matsushita from the Carlin team completed the second free run, and the pilot of MP Motorsport Jordan King finished third.
