On June 11, on the second day of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Azerbaijan, Formula 2 competitions started.

In the Formula 2 sprint race, 11 teams fought for the championship, each of which had two pilots. The pilots made 21 laps along the Baku city ring. In a highly competitive competition, ART Grand Prix driver Frédéric Vesti took first place, Prema Racing team member Jehan Daruwala was second and Liam Lawson (Carlin) was third.

Then the third free run of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Azerbaijan took place. The race was attended by 10 teams, each with two pilots. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell compete in the Mercedes team, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari team, Alexander Albon and Nicholas Latifi in the Williams team. Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen lead the fight in the Red Bull Racing team, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsuno in the Alpha Tauri team, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon in the Alpine team. In addition, Valtteri Bottas and Jo Guanzhu in Alfa Romeo, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris in McLaren take part in the races. Drivers Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen defend the sporting honor of the Haas team, while Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll defend the Aston Martin team.
