AFB admission rules

You must submit a portfolio of 20-40 photos of your creative work along with the completed Application form to the Arts Council of the Union. It can be both single and serial works. Along with the portfolio, the candidate can present a diploma, an honorary certificate and other materials reflecting the creative achievements of the candidate.
After the works are accepted for consideration by the Artistic Council at the initial stage, the author is granted the status of Candidate for Union Membership or accepted as a member of AFB. At the next stage, the works submitted by the candidate are evaluated by the Artistic Council, and a final decision on the candidate’s membership in the Union is made by a simple majority vote.
Candidates are recommended to present their works in the form of relevant genre and thematic series. Submitted works must be complete in form and content and fully reflect your creative interests. Prepare works for presentation as your own personal exhibition.
Candidates do not need to demonstrate versatility – that is, the ability to work in all styles and genres of photography. The Artistic Council is interested in your individuality and creative world view.

The Artistic Council includes the Board of Directors and Union experts in various fields.
Portfolio review is carried out once a month by the Artistic Council of the Union. The date of the review of portfolios is determined by the Artistic Council when there is a quorum among its members, as well as taking into account holidays and rest days.

Candidates are informed about the final decision of the Artistic Council by e-mail.
