The UWW Wrestling U23 European Championships, which started in Baku on May 20, 2024, ended after seven days of competition. 365 athletes from 31 countries competed in the Baku Sports Hall.

Azerbaijan’s wrestlers, who ranked first in total number of medals and points, won 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze medals in 3 categories. Wrestlers who received the title of European champion were Dzhabrayil Gadzhiyev, Ziya Babashov, Khasay Hasanli, Gurban Gurbanov and Zhala Aliyeva.

Ukraine, which got 2nd place, won 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze medals. Georgia and Moldova, which took 3rd and 4th place, were awarded with 10 and 9 medals respectively. Turkish athletes also won 16 medals in total and they took 7th place with 1 Gold, 6 Silver and 9 Bronze medals.

In team ranking, Azerbaijan became the champion in Freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman, and in Women’s wrestling, the Ukrainian team scored the highest points.
